Key Responsibilities and Duties
The Factory Maintenance Worker will be responsible for performing a variety of tasks to keep the facility and its equipment running efficiently:
- System Adjustments and Repairs: Conduct minor repairs and adjustments to essential systems, including heating, cooling, ventilation, plumbing, and electrical.
- Coordination with Tradespersons: Contact and coordinate with specialized tradespersons for significant repairs and troubleshooting of facility systems.
- Contractor Communication: Liaise with contractors for routine and emergency repairs as well as scheduled maintenance.
- Appliance Repairs: Perform small repairs on facility appliances as needed.
- Safety Inspections: Carry out regular safety and security checks within the factory premises.
- Heavy Lifting: Move heavy furniture, equipment, and supplies safely and efficiently as required.
- Routine Maintenance: Execute maintenance tasks such as painting, drywall repair, and ensuring proper upkeep of factory facilities.
- Sanitation: Regularly clean and disinfect bathrooms and fixtures, maintaining hygiene standards.
- Independence: Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and maintain consistency in task execution.
Qualifications
- Language Requirement: English
- Education: No formal degree, certificate, or diploma required.
- Experience: 1 to less than 7 months of relevant experience in maintenance or factory-related roles preferred.
Work Setting
- Work Location: On-site at a factory in Markham, ON.
- Environment: Physical tasks in a factory or plant setting, involving repetitive tasks and occasional pressure to meet deadlines.
