About the Role

Join Waiheke Marine Farms Limited as an Oyster Farming Hand and contribute to the production of premium Pacific oysters. This role involves working in the grow-out section of the farm, adhering to high standards of animal husbandry, and supporting general farm operations.

Core Responsibilities

• Oyster Husbandry: Oversee the care and maintenance of Pacific oysters, ensuring they are ready for harvest and sale.
• Farm Operations: Maintain grading, thinning, and splitting schedules under employer guidance.
• Supply Chain: Support the preparation of market-size oysters for processing.
• Farm Maintenance: Perform general upkeep of farm facilities and equipment.
• Regulatory Compliance: Follow the Animal Products Notice and adhere to the employer’s health and safety protocols.

Additional duties may be assigned by management or other departments as needed.

• Ability to perform under pressure.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Team player with excellent communication skills.

A skipper license is an advantage, and assistance to obtain one can be provided.
A valid driver’s license is required.
