Key Responsibilities
As a roofer, you will:
- Install and replace roofing materials such as asphalt shingles, wood shingles, shakes, and masonry or clay tiles for sloped roofs.
- Apply waterproof coatings on masonry or concrete surfaces above and below ground.
- Use hand and power tools to install or repair metal roofing systems.
- Fit and secure sheet metal flashings.
- Calculate required materials and estimate project costs.
- Assemble scaffolding and other temporary work platforms.
