As we expand our manufacturing facility in Maryborough, Queensland, we invite talented individuals to join us in supporting the QTMP project. You will be part of a team that is at the forefront of the Traction division, contributing to energy-efficient solutions and innovative technologies.
Your Role and Responsibilities:
As an Assembler – Traction Converters, you will play a crucial role in helping ABB achieve production targets while maintaining high standards of quality and safety. Your responsibilities will include:
- Assembly of Traction Converters: Perform assembly work for semi-finished and final products, systems, and panels, adhering to detailed technical diagrams and assembly instructions.
- Use of Hand Tools & Machinery: Operate light hand tools and machinery on the shop floor to assemble components with precision.
- Quality Testing: Conduct regular quality checks during the production process to ensure products meet required standards.
- Production Process Adherence: Follow standard operating procedures to maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Collaboration: Work closely with Traction teams both locally in Australia and internationally in Switzerland to achieve production goals.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Education: Preferably holds a Certificate II in Electrotechnology or is Electrical Trade Qualified.
- Experience: Background in mechanics, electrics, and/or automation. Ability to read electrical and construction drawings is essential. Experience in loom manufacturing and terminations is a plus.
- Manual Dexterity: Excellent manual skills and attention to detail with the ability to perform repetitive tasks.
- Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, particularly in a manufacturing environment.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to work in a factory setting with long periods of standing, bending, and handling various tools and equipment.
- Team Player: Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with local and international teams.
- Flexibility: A “Can Do” attitude and willingness to adapt to a fast-paced environment with multiple tasks.
