About Us

We are a close-knit team of three, passionate about the dairy industry and helping our staff achieve their farming aspirations. Our operation is a high-input dairy farm running 700 cows on 230 hectares, just 5 minutes north of Rototuna.

Our modern 44-aside herringbone cowshed is designed for excellent cow flow and includes an in-shed feeding system. We support work-life balance with a fortnightly roster: 5 days on/2 days off followed by 6 days on/1 day off. We also provide time for professional training and skill development.

Accommodation is included with the role – a well-maintained, two-bedroom home featuring a heat pump, a lockable garage, and a deck with stunning views of the farm. The house is conveniently located a short drive from Rototuna Shopping Centre, where you’ll find supermarkets, cafes, gyms, medical facilities, and more.

About the RoleWe are looking for a dedicated Farm Assistant to join our team starting 1st June 2025. Reporting to the Farm Manager, you will play a hands-on role in daily farm operations, including:

  • Milking cows in both morning and afternoon shifts.
  • Assisting in planning and managing stock feeding.
  • Working with vets and other service providers when required.
  • Conducting general maintenance such as fencing, weed control, and pest management.
  • Managing stock health, reproduction, and calf-rearing.
  • Operating and maintaining farm equipment and vehicles.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys teamwork, communicates confidently, and has a genuine passion for dairy farming. While you’ll receive clear direction from the Farm Manager, we value initiative and independent problem-solving.

Salary: $60,000 – $70,000 (total package), depending on experience.

We’re looking for candidates who bring the following skills and qualities:

  • Preferred: At least one year of farming experience.
  • Preferred: Ability to operate machinery and use hand/power tools.
  • Essential: A restricted manual driver’s license.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Passionate about animal care, with patience and attention to detail.
  • Self-motivated, forward-thinking, and eager to learn.

Note: A drug test will be required as part of the application process.

Why Join Us?

We are proud of our work and take pride in fostering a supportive, positive environment where everyone feels valued. As part of our team, you’ll enjoy:

  • A competitive salary plus accommodation.

  • Being part of a team that values collaboration, hard work, and having fun along the way.
