About the Role:
Huon Aquaculture is seeking a dedicated Farm Attendant to join our On Water Maintenance team in Strahan. This is an ideal opportunity for individuals looking to advance their career in the aquaculture industry while enjoying the scenic views of Macquarie Harbour. You’ll play an essential role in maintaining our feed-related equipment and ensuring the smooth operation of our farm.

Key Responsibilities:
As a Farm Attendant in our On Water Maintenance crew, your primary tasks will include:

  • Maintaining Equipment: Ensuring cameras and winches are in good working order to ensure smooth operations.
  • Monitoring Fish Behavior: Reporting unusual fish activity and identifying any predator threats.
  • Collaboration: Working with the Hobart-based Control Room to respond to requests and ensure operational efficiency.
  • Farm Assistance: Assisting with various farm duties as required, ensuring all systems are functioning optimally.

This full-time position operates on a 7-day on, 7-day off roster, providing a structured work-life balance for our team members.


About You:
To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Effective Time Management: Ability to prioritize tasks in a dynamic environment.
  • Safety Awareness: Experience working in an environment where safety is paramount.
  • Excellent Communication Skills: Strong ability to work within a team and report to the Control Room efficiently.
  • Attention to Detail: A proactive approach to identifying opportunities for improvement.
  • Experience in Aquaculture: Previous experience in on-water marine farm roles is desirable but not essential.
