Key Responsibilities

As a Fruit Farming Labourer, your main duties will include:

• Crop Cultivation: Plant, cultivate, irrigate, and care for blueberry crops to ensure healthy growth and high yields.
• Harvesting: Assist with the harvest of blueberries, ensuring the fruit is picked at the correct time for optimal quality.
• Fertilizing and Spraying: Mix and apply fertilizers, pesticides, and other treatments to crops to support growth and protect against pests and diseases.
• Cleaning and Maintenance: Maintain clean work areas, ensuring all tools and machinery are properly stored and in good working condition.
• Machinery Operation: Operate and maintain farm machinery, including those used for irrigation, planting, and harvesting.
• General Farm Tasks: Load, unload, and transfer crates, farm supplies, and produce.

Work Environment and Conditions

• Work Site: The work will be carried out outdoors in a rural setting. This role is physically demanding and requires standing, bending, crouching, and kneeling for extended periods.
• Physical Requirements: You will be required to lift up to 50 lbs (23 kg) and perform repetitive tasks.
• Working Hours: The role requires 40 hours per week, with a day shift schedule. Flexibility may be required depending on farm needs.
• Transportation: The employer provides transportation to and from the worksite.

Skills and Qualifications

• Languages: Proficiency in English is required.
• Education: No degree, certificate, or diploma required. Training will be provided.
• Experience: Previous farming experience is an asset but not mandatory. The employer will train candidates who are willing to learn.
