Vandenberg Feeders Ltd. is seeking dedicated General Farm Workers to join our team in Picture Butte, Alberta. Located in a serene rural setting, this full-time, permanent role offers an opportunity to contribute to the farm’s operations and work with animals and farm equipment. This position includes on-site staff accommodation to provide convenience for our employees.
Responsibilities and Duties
As a General Farm Worker, you will be responsible for:
- Animal Care: Feeding and tending to animals, primarily beef cattle.
- Machinery Operation and Maintenance: Operating, maintaining, and cleaning various farm machinery and equipment to ensure they function efficiently.
- Facility Maintenance: Cleaning and maintaining farm structures, such as stables, barns, barnyards, and pens, to uphold hygiene standards and support livestock health.
- General Farm Duties: Performing a range of daily farm tasks, from fence maintenance to routine care for livestock and property.
Key Skills and Experience
- Language Requirement: Proficiency in English.
- Education: No degree, certificate, or diploma is required, making this role accessible for entry-level candidates.
- Experience: 1 to less than 7 months of relevant farm experience is preferred but not mandatory.
Work Environment and Physical Requirements
This is an on-site role at our rural Alberta location, requiring a willingness to work in a farm setting with exposure to outdoor elements. Accommodation is available for candidates who may be relocating. The job entails physical activity, including handling animals, operating equipment, and performing repetitive tasks with attention to detail.
