Located in the rural district of Ashley Clinton, Central Hawke’s Bay, Punawai Farm balances environmental awareness with efficient farm management. The property features native plantings, wetlands, and sustainable farming initiatives, alongside a historic 6-bedroom homestead surrounded by a large, established garden.

These roles are ideal for a couple or individuals with an existing relationship, as the shared accommodation is suited for two. The positions include:

  1. Groundsperson / General Farm Hand (Primary Role)
  2. Homestead Manager (Secondary Role)

Role Breakdown

1. Groundsperson / General Farm Hand

  • Split of Duties: Approximately 60% Groundsperson responsibilities and 40% General Farm Hand work.
  • Key Responsibilities:
    • Groundsperson Tasks:
      • Garden care, including lawns, hedges, trees, and swimming pool upkeep.
      • Maintenance of the homestead, manager’s house, farm buildings, and other property assets.
      • General tasks like clearing gutters and maintaining the exterior of the homestead.
    • Farm Hand Tasks:
      • Assistance with farm operations, including tractor and machinery work.
      • Fencing, weed control, and general farm maintenance.
  • Requirements:
    • Gardening expertise and practical maintenance skills.
    • Tractor and quad bike experience.
    • Ability to work proactively and independently.
    • Strong physical fitness and energy.

2. Homestead Manager

  • Hours: Minimum of 10 hours/week, with flexibility to assist during events.
  • Key Responsibilities:
    • General housework and occasional meal preparation.
    • Supplementary garden work when time permits.
  • Requirements:
    • Strong attention to detail and a positive, can-do attitude.
