Required Qualifications & Experience

Languages:

  • Proficiency in English (both written and spoken) is required.

Education:

  • College diploma or CEGEP level education is required.

Experience:

  • A minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience in teaching is necessary.

Credentials & Certifications:

  • Provincial or Territorial Teaching Certificate is required.

Responsibilities & Duties

As a high school teacher at Royal Canadian Christian School, you will be responsible for a wide range of tasks aimed at ensuring students’ academic success and overall well-being. Your primary duties will include:

  • Developing Course Content: Design lesson plans, instructional materials, and coursework that align with the approved curriculum and meet educational standards.
  • Teaching Students: Deliver engaging lessons through lectures, discussions, audio-visual presentations, and practical field studies.
  • Assessing Student Progress: Prepare, administer, and grade assignments, tests, and examinations to evaluate student performance and comprehension.
  • Providing Academic Support: Offer tutoring assistance and extra help sessions for students struggling with course material.
  • Homework & Assignments: Assign and review homework, ensuring students understand their tasks and receive constructive feedback.
  • Advising Students: Provide guidance on course selection, career paths, and personal development.
  • Student Development: Lead students in various activities aimed at promoting their physical, mental, and social growth.
  • Parental & Administrative Communication: Discuss students’ academic performance and behavioral progress with parents, guardians, and school administrators.
  • Participating in School Events: Attend staff meetings, teacher training workshops, and educational conferences to stay updated with teaching methodologies and best practices.
  • Professional Development: Present and attend workshops, symposia, and other professional development programs.
  • Classroom Management: Maintain discipline in the classroom while fostering a positive and inclusive learning atmosphere.
