Role Overview

As Chef de Partie (Station Chef), you will lead a culinary team to ensure high-quality food preparation and presentation for the restaurant and banquet services. The role includes supervising staff, maintaining food cost controls, ensuring kitchen safety, and assisting in menu development.


Key Responsibilities

  • Leadership & Supervision:
    • Lead and direct culinary team members in food preparation and production.
    • Train and mentor team members and apprentices in your assigned section.
  • Food Preparation:
    • Oversee food preparation for restaurant and banquet services, maintaining high standards for quality, taste, and presentation.
    • Develop daily specials and assist in creating new menu items.
  • Operations & Safety:
    • Conduct daily inspections of food items, ensuring freshness and proper storage.
    • Maintain kitchen equipment safety and hygiene standards.
    • Monitor and prevent overproduction and food waste.
  • Planning & Coordination:
    • Assist in developing and achieving long-term culinary goals.
    • Ensure station inventory levels and communicate shortages or prep requirements.

Requirements

Essential Skills & Experience:

  • Culinary apprenticeship or program completion from a recognized hotel school or college.
  • Minimum 3 years of progressive culinary experience, with at least 1 year as a Chef de Partie.
  • Expertise in classical and modern cuisine, banquet production, and current culinary trends.
  • Valid Food Handler Certification.
  • Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Experience in high-volume, fast-paced culinary environments.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • A degree or diploma in Hotel Management or equivalent.
  • Basic pastry and baking production knowledge or experience.
