Job Overview
Kelly-Boy Maintenance Inc. is seeking Light Duty Cleaners to join their team in Vancouver, BC. Successful candidates will be responsible for various cleaning duties across a range of settings, ensuring the maintenance of a clean and safe environment. The ideal candidates will be dependable, organized, and able to work with minimal supervision.
Key Responsibilities
As a Light Duty Cleaner, your responsibilities will include:
- General Cleaning: Wash windows, walls, and ceilings to ensure they are free from dirt and grime.
- Furniture and Equipment Handling: Move heavy furniture, equipment, and supplies as needed for cleaning and maintenance purposes.
- Industrial Cleaning: Operate industrial vacuum cleaners to remove dirt, heavy debris, and other refuse from floors and work areas.
- Exterior Maintenance: Clean snow and ice from walkways and parking areas during winter months.
- Safety & Security: Perform safety and security checks to ensure the work environment remains safe and secure.
- Independent Work: Ability to work with minimal supervision while maintaining the quality and timeliness of tasks.
Work Environment and Conditions
- Location: This position is based in Vancouver, BC, and the work must be performed on-site, meaning remote work is not an option.
- Physical Demands: You will be required to handle some heavy lifting, as well as perform tasks such as bending, standing, and walking for extended periods.
- Work Schedule: The role offers between 30 to 40 hours per week, with a potential for overtime based on business needs.
Skills and Qualifications
- Languages: Proficiency in English is required for communication.
- Education: No formal degree, certificate, or diploma required.
- Experience: Prior experience in cleaning or maintenance roles is an asset but not mandatory. The employer is willing to train the right candidates.
- Driver’s License: A valid driver’s license is preferred for transportation needs, although not mandatory for all candidates.
- Personal Suitability: The ideal candidate should be dependable, flexible, organized, and reliable, with a strong work ethic and the ability to work independently.
