What You’ll Do
As a local truck driver, your main role will be transporting goods efficiently and safely. Your responsibilities include:

Providing professional customer service and handling client concerns with courtesy.

Loading and unloading cargo at delivery points.
-
Operating and driving straight or articulated trucks (tractor-trailers).
-
Performing inspections before, during, and after trips—checking lights, tires, brakes, cold storage, and more.
-
Ensuring the load is secure using tarps and safety protocols.
-
Keeping detailed records of cargo, mileage, fuel use, and work hours.
-
Relaying important information to dispatch via onboard communication systems.
Key Requirements

Language: English
-
Education: No diploma or certification needed
-
Experience: Previous experience is considered an asset but not mandatory

Licensing:

Class 1 or A Commercial Driver’s License

Air Brake (Z) Endorsement

Documentation Familiarity:

Pre-trip and post-trip inspection reports

Maintenance logs and repair documentation

Truck & Equipment Experience

Tractor-trailers
-
Onboard trip recording systems (electronic logs)

Regional and provincial routes
Additional Conditions

Must pass:

Criminal background check

Driving abstract review

Validity check for driver’s license

Medical examination

Must be physically capable of:

Handling heavy loads (up to 50 lbs or 23 kg)

Repetitive tasks, prolonged sitting

Wearing steel-toed safety boots
