About the Role:
Are you a passionate junior or intermediate reporter eager to craft compelling stories? Allied Press Limited invites you to join our dynamic Eastern Southland team. This full-time role is based in our Gore office and offers an opportunity to contribute to ODT Online, the Otago Daily Times, and The Ensign—a trusted weekly community publication.
The Ensign delivers in-depth coverage across Eastern and Northern Southland and West Otago, featuring government, sports, arts, education, farming, and business. If you have journalism experience or a qualification and thrive in creating engaging content for both digital and print platforms, this is the role for you.
Key Responsibilities:
- Writing impactful articles, capturing photos, and creating video content.
- Covering breaking news, community events, and in-depth feature stories.
- Building strong community connections and fostering relationships with diverse individuals.
- Managing tight deadlines calmly to deliver high-quality, timely news.
Key Requirements:
- Proven journalism skills, including photography and videography expertise.
- A passion for news and storytelling across digital and print mediums.
- The ability to foster a positive, inclusive, and collaborative work environment.
- Strong commitment to producing quality content under tight deadlines.
- A current New Zealand driver’s licence.
